I think the C-class is a good car but, that depends on your frame of reference. The new-style c-class, in particular, is nice. Depending upon your choice of engine (C280/C300, C320/C350, C55/C63), it could be fun. The low-end engines, I find, to be sluggish. Fine for getting from point A to B but, not particularly "spirited". The middle grade is more refined but, not "fast". The AMG engines are great but, very pricey. Most of my experience on the C-class is as service loaners from the dealer but, I found the interior materials to be "so-so". This is only for the previous generation C-class. The new C-class may be different. Honestly, though, if you want to impress people, you will not do it in a C-class. You really need a flagship vehicle (Mercedes S/CL/SL-class, BMW 6/7-series, Lexus LS460/LS600hL, Audi A8/S8, Range Rover, etc.) to impress. Even in these vehicles, you will only impress some of the time. Some will argue about the impressiveness of the C63 AMG or the Audi S4/RS4, etc. but, most people cannot tell the models are "special". Only the "car guys" can tell.
