Generally speaking, the first year of a model generation should be avoided. That's when they still haven't worked the kinks out. Especially with a Mercedes which, while they are a THRILL to drive, aren't always the most reliable cars out there. I'd try to find a 2001 if I were you.

in case you won't manage to attend to to pay for the motor vehicle new you won't manage to attend to to pay for the upkeep. Plus that's a v8 you gets around 15mpg in the city. do you like a automobile or do you like some thing spectacular to examine on your driveway?

The CL500 is a great car, very fast and looks great! You need to be ready for relatively high maintenance costs, but other than that it's a much better choice than anything else in the price range. I would strongly recommend that you have a pre-purchase inspection done at a Mercedes dealer to make sure there are no problems. They can hook up a laptop computer and do a "short test" to check for electrical problems in all of the all of electronic systems (engine control, chassis electronics, convenience features, eveything). Your average repair shop doesn't have the equipment to do that!
